Your knowledge & qualifications:
You are a masterful teacher of movement and outdoor activities.
You have a degree/training in pedagogy, sport, or outdoor activities.
You have experience with young learners (preschool and primary).
You love being in nature, if you could spend all your time outside, you would be delighted.
You have experience facilitating fun and engaging movement and outdoor activities for children.
Your love of children fuels your love of teaching. You understand that relationships come first, learning follows. You know how to develop positive relationships with children, parents, colleagues.
You communicate beautifully. You listen a lot. Talk succinctly. Write compellingly. You are, first of all, a learner yourself. You love to develop. You are coachable.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and teach experiential education curricula according to the learning model defined by Colina Learning Center.
Create and implement daily nature curriculum activities that are age appropriate and designed for the needs and growth of each individual child.
Create lesson plans and prepare materials for outdoor projects and activities. Submits weekly/monthly supplies requests.
Observe each child and help them improve their physicals competencies, courage and build self-esteem.
Encourage interaction between children and act as a mediator when needed.
Work cooperatively with learning designers and other education staff to support and obtain the goals and objectives of the program and learning expeditions.
Supervise and maintain high standards of health and safety and follow Colina Learning Center protocols and policies in all activities.
Coordinate the extra-curricular activities of our school and always find new ways to engage our young learners in activities that enrich their knowledge in a fun and enjoyable way
